Something Old, Something New

It's been raised to my attention (on several occasions) that when I take my camera out for non-work shoots, such as a picnic or social gathering, the images seem to disappear into the deep obyss never to be seen again.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the venue fitting for displaying such images, so instead they occupy a spot on my ever growing farm of hard drives.

This came to a head the other day as I was trolling through my Lightroom library to be sure my new backup system was capturing all the goodness... and it hit me.  I have some shots that I really like, but rely on their context or their series as a whole.  In the background, I had Ira Glass talking about real urban legends on his phenominal weekly radio program, This American Life.  And that's when it hit me.  That's how I'll bring the stories behind these photo shoots to life... I'll explain all this madness after the jump.

More about the shoot and its value after the jump.
